Frequently Asked Questions
Do RFDs need to be installed on a perfectly level surface?
No. We can accommodate up to a 5 degree slope in any angle. If you are laying in or along a ditch, you just need to make sure that the stabilizer bars are going down one side and not trying to span the ditch. Important: Do not straddle a ditch.
Can the RFD system be installed permanently?
Yes. Just be careful about freezing, UV light exposure, and the fluids being stored.
Can two or more RFD system be tied together?
Yes. You can tie them together with a manifold type of system if laying them side-by-side, or you can couple them together if laying them end-to-end. Note: if connecting two or more units end-to-end, they must be located on a flat surface.
What sizes do you have available?
Our normal sizes are:
• 25 foot (overall length 37 ft/11.28 m – fluid capacity 2200 gal/8327 L)
• 50 foot (overall length 62 ft/18.9 m – fluid capacity 4150 gal/15709 L)
• 75 foot (overall length 87 ft/26.5 m – fluid capacity 6100 gal/23091 L)
• 100 foot (overall length 112 ft/34.1 m – fluid capacity 8050 gal/30472 L)
Note: We can accommodate almost any length you would like on a special order basis. Remember that once you are over 100 feet, the unit gets heavy enough that you will need more assistance moving, loading and unloading.
What is the weight of an RFD system?
• RFD 25 – 220 lbs/99.8 kg
• RFD 50 – 260 lbs/117.9 kg
• RFD75 – 300 lbs./136 kg
• RFD100 – 350 lbs/158.8 kg
What is the normal delivery time?
Depending on availability of the material and the quantity ordered, we normally deliver within 4 to 7 weeks. We are working very hard on building up our inventory to help reduce this timeline.
Are there any discounts or preferred customer discounts?
The only discount that we are able to offer at this time is a multiple unit discount, and that is for 6 units or more, purchased at one time.
Can the RFD be made out of different material of our choosing?
Yes, as long as the material will stand up to our high standards and that it will resist the product that you are wanting to store. Please talk to a Representative, and they will lead you to one of our engineering team members.
Can we order different colors of RFD’s?
Yes. For example, RFDs made for potable water are always blue. Other color options are possible; please talk to your product Representative for more information.
What type of ends come on the RFD?
We currently use a 6 inch female camlock. However, we offer several valve packages that can transition to a 5 inch Stortz, or a 6 inch female or male camlock. We also offer a 6-4-4 wye. Other fittings and options are available; just let us know what your needs are.
Can the RFD be put down on gravel or larger rock?
Yes. Our testing was done on everything from smooth surfaces to 3 inch road construction rock.
How do you repair the unit if it’s punctured or torn?
Each ezContainRFD comes with a repair kit that has the capability to repair even while the unit has fluid in it.
How large of a hole can be repaired?
Our repair kit has multiple options for repairing anything form a pin hole to a cut up to 7 inches in length.
What maintainance is required for potable water RFD’s?
The unit must be dried completely before being rolled up for storage. How to dry it after use? We offer a blower kit that will inflate and dry the RFD. It takes about 5 minutes to fill with air (50′ unit); drying time will depend on the outside temperature and humidity
How long does it take to fill?
The answer depends on the number of gallons per minute input, and the size of the bag.
How big is the system when rolled up?
The clamshell’s length is 7′ 6″. Depending on what length bag is rolled up on it, the height is approximately 22″ to 36″ in height.
