We were invited by C-fficiency Systems Incorporated (CSI) early and throughout the development process of the Rapid Fluid Deployment System to provide input on the RFD System as a working fire agency. Our evaluation was how these units could be effectively used in practical firefighting applications in Rural and Wildland-Urban Interface areas such as ours as well as Wildland/Forest Fire incidents.

Through the entire R&D process CSI improved the RFD system based on our feedback and the result is a very diverse, portable, easy 2 to 4 person rapidly deployed water supply system. The RFD was easily set up, used, drained, reset and stowed for the next service as a durable, portable water supply system. The valve systems filled the RFD in minutes from hydrant supply, and tanker/tenders filled the units also within minutes. We pumped directly from the RFD Unit with an Engine plus hydrant supply then drafted from the RFD with an engine using large diameter hose discharge and monitor discharge at working pressures with effective fire streams and duration.

Another advantage is that the RFD unit can be staged on uneven surfaces (+/- 5 degrees) and deployed off roadway vehicle travel surfaces. This allows better emergency response accessto the scene and for allowed controlled through traffic to safely pass by.
